I'm looking for a downloadable version of either the Canon BG-E6 and/or Canon BG-E7 battery grips. I find that I read the manual more having a download copy, than having to actually dig for the box where I put the manual in.
Thanks

The grip doesn't come with a manual. It comes with a huge sheet of paper that's folded into many sections. There's really not much to the section containing the instructions. Was there anything in particular you wanted to know about your grip?

there really isn't much to read about.
Just know the grip has a secret door holding compartment on the stalk part that goes into the battery area.

Ahh. Just never read them. I'm a 'shoot first, ask questions later' kind of guy. Yeah, the grip is practically easy to figure out. Sometimes out of boredom or when I really get stuck, I pull out the manual and skim through it. I don't like reading paper manuals/instructions. I just forgot where I put the box for the grip, which I planned to use for the 'Show your boxes' thread. The box had the instructions.

It doesn't. Not in the sense that it drains one so far and then shifts to the other for a while. It pretty much load-balances so that both batteries have about the same remaining capacity.

i dont always put the battery in the right slot, (as i currently only have on battery). does this make a difference to battery life, if I use left or right slots?
I have noticed the canon battery lasts up to twice as long as the AA set.
and I have also noticed that the recharge performance is now only two boxes not three boxes.?
But the OEM grip is almost idiot proof....Love it

It won't affect battery life, but presumably (since Canon marks, or did in earlier grips, one slot as the one for single-battery use) it makes a difference in performance in some way.
AA cells don't have the power you might think. 6x2000 mAH AA cells don't produce 12000 mAH at the 7.5V your camera draws; they produce more like 2000, and don't have as good a 'power curve' as the Li Ion camera battery does.
Batteries do, over time, wear out. Too frequent recharging, or overheating the batteries, can accelerate this.

My reason or at least one of them is if I am shooting a movie or even a burst , does it switch .
Wait for idle time - what does it do when I charge the 3rd , and put in ? Everything off the 3rd until it reach other battery charge . On the XTI , I had / have 3 sets and swapped as a set .
Still watching for manual , I find - I will post .
